# Data and public visibility

Market combines public stories, Citizen profiles, account information and public blockchain records. These have different visibility rules.

## Public sources and place records

A source article or business listing can be public without proving the business's participation. Source dates, factual corrections and verified representation still matter.

The neighborhood's illustrated characters and buildings are part of the product's presentation. They do not establish the identity of every real business or its involvement.

## Citizen profile settings

Completed Citizen profiles and achievement visibility are enabled by default in the current experience. Participation visibility is disabled by default. Review those settings in your profile rather than assuming every setting is private until you opt in.

A public profile can show its name, portrait, bio, level, Genesis finish and verified roles. Achievement visibility also controls the public XP and badge display. The profile's level remains visible when the profile itself is public.

Wallet addresses and balances, private drafts, notes and review submissions are excluded from the public Citizen profile and share projection. See [privacy and sharing](https://market-launchpad-com.gitbook.io/docs/citizens/privacy-and-sharing) for the controls.

## Public blockchain records

A profile setting does not make a blockchain transaction private. Mint creation, transfers and other on-chain actions can be examined independently in an explorer and may allow others to associate a wallet with activity.

## Browser data and account data

Radar saved items and followed editions are stored in the current browser. They are different from account-saved places and account drafts. Clearing browser data can remove local preferences and drafts without deleting an existing public blockchain record.

An uploaded portrait is cropped for the Citizen profile. Choose an image you are comfortable showing under your current visibility settings and avoid including private information in it.

## Sharing and removal

A public milestone page reflects its current verified status. A downloaded image or copied post can remain elsewhere after you change a privacy setting or a result is corrected.

Use the available profile controls for visibility changes. For account data questions that the interface does not resolve, ask through the official Market route for the appropriate process. These docs do not promise an unverified retention period or deletion deadline.
