# What is Market?

Market is a Solana launchpad being built around real local businesses and their stories. Its planned business-token model gives a named business a disclosed share of eligible trading fees, alongside the launcher and Market.

## The idea behind the District

Memes grow around details people remember: a shopkeeper's personality, the cat everyone visits, a recipe passed down through generations, a place that refuses to disappear. This accumulated story is its lore.

Market gives people a place to discover that lore, propose useful projects and build a community around a specific location. The illustrated neighborhood is the entrance to that experience. Market Radar connects it to sourced reporting about real places.

## Why the business receives the largest planned share

The business and its people provide the place, work and continuing story that draw the community's attention. Market's approved business-fee target allocates **75% of distributable net fees to the business, 10% to the launcher and 15% to Market**. This gives the business a direct place in the proposed economic model while recognizing the person who started the token and the platform supporting it.

## What a token represents

A business token is a community token associated with a named business. Holding it does not grant ownership of the company, a share of sales, control over its assets or an automatic right to its fee income. A token's price and the business's financial health can move independently.

A shop's mascot can be part of its story; this does not establish a separate animal-token launch category. The documented Citizen launch milestones concern eligible, distinct physical businesses.

Explore and learn. Create and maintain a project. Represent a business and help make its story accurate. Citizen progression recognizes concrete contributions across these paths.
