# Trading fees and other costs

Trading fees, Solana transaction fees and price movement are separate costs. A displayed trading fee is not the full cost of a transaction.

> These are target trading fees for future launches. The business token rate is planned; the official $MARKET rate is an approved target. Public launches, trading and business payouts through Market are currently closed. Check each live token's actual configuration when those features become available.

## Target trading fee schedule

| Asset type | Curve stage | DAMM v2 stage after migration |
| ----------------------- | ----------: | ----------------------------: |
| Eligible business token | 2.25% | 2.25% |
| Official $MARKET token | 1.5% | 1.5% |

These rates apply per exchange: a buy and a later sell are two exchanges, not two fee layers added to one trade. Older launches retain their own recorded configuration.

Both targets use fixed fees in both stages. The current launch policy collects fees in the quote asset (SOL for the SOL route), without compounding. The $MARKET target uses a fixed fee in both stages. No dynamic fee or compounding mechanism is activated by this target policy.

The business token's 2.25% is the **gross trading fee**. Its planned 75 / 10 / 15 allocation applies to eligible fees actually received after the underlying protocol's share, rather than to trading volume. See [business fee distribution](https://market-launchpad-com.gitbook.io/docs/fees/business-fee-distribution).

## Underlying protocol fees

Meteora takes a protocol share from trading fees under the pool's applicable rules. Its current DBC documentation specifies 20% of the trading fee; DAMM v2 documents a default 20% protocol share. Check the actual pool rather than treating a default as universal. Collection mode and pool settings affect the actual amounts and assets received. [DBC fees](https://docs.meteora.ag/core-products/dbc/fees/overview) · [DAMM v2 fees](https://docs.meteora.ag/core-products/damm-v2/fees/overview).

The [worked examples](https://market-launchpad-com.gitbook.io/docs/fees/examples) use that 20% assumption and full relevant collection rights. They explain the arithmetic; they are not receipts or forecasts.

## Network fees

Solana transactions require SOL for network fees, including a base fee and any applicable priority fee. Those costs are separate from a token's trading fee. Read the wallet preview for the transaction you are about to authorize. [Solana transaction fees](https://solana.com/docs/core/fees).

The approved preparation targets include no additional Market pool-creation or migration levy. This does not waive Solana fees, account rent or underlying protocol costs. Meteora also documents a protocol liquidity deduction at migration; it is separate from the trading fee. Creation, account setup, migration or other actions may introduce additional costs when offered. Use the displayed breakdown rather than assuming that the trade percentage covers every action.

## Price impact and slippage

Your trade can move the pool price, especially when liquidity is shallow. Slippage tolerance specifies the price movement you are willing to accept while the transaction is being executed. It is not a fee paid to Market, and a high tolerance does not guarantee a successful or favorable trade.

Check the estimated output, minimum output, fees and wallet balance together. Fees reduce what remains even if the quoted market price stays the same.

## Existing and external tokens

A token launched under a previous configuration keeps its own rules. Trading the same mint through a different pool can also involve different liquidity and fee settings. Always identify the particular mint and pool before applying a rate from this guide.
