# Verify your business relationship

A business request starts without a Citizen Pass or wallet. Verification then establishes the representative’s authority for the actual branch. A verified Citizen business role, if linked later, is a separate profile result. Typing “Business Owner” in a profile is not that evidence.

## Start with the business desk

Open [For business owners](https://marketdotlaunchpad.com/business). Select your branch, or enter its name and city. Add a website or Maps link if helpful. Continue to your contact details, real role and request reason, then use **Send business request**. A receipt confirms submission; it does not confirm ownership, a balance or a payment.

When provided, save the private follow-up link from the receipt. It shows the recorded request, team review and the actual next step. Keep that link private. If the form is unavailable, the page provides email and copy options; opening an email draft does not send it.

## 1. Identify the exact place

Use the correct business record, physical address and branch. A franchise brand, a similarly named shop and the particular location can have different representatives.

If the place has not been accepted into the catalog, submit a sourced discovery first. Acceptance of a place checks its identity; it does not verify the person submitting it as the owner.

## 2. State your real role

Explain whether you are the owner, a manager or another authorized representative. Use a claim you can support. An employee, customer, reviewer or social follower is not automatically authorized to act for a business.

The general Business Verified achievement recognizes a reviewed business relationship. A specific ownership label requires evidence that establishes ownership rather than only access to a business channel.

## 3. Complete the requested challenge

Where the workflow issues a verification challenge, use the exact challenge and the supported public channel controlled by the business. Provide the source that allows the challenge and relationship to be checked.

Follow the expiration displayed by the form. If a challenge expires, request the appropriate new challenge; an old publication may no longer satisfy the current request.

A customer's review or a copied listing cannot prove that you control the business. The challenge supports the authority check; review may still request more evidence for the role you claim.

## 4. Read the review result

| Result | What to do |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Awaiting review | Wait for the existing submission's result |
| Needs changes | Address the specific evidence or identity issue requested |
| Accepted | Check the business, scope and verified role recorded |
| Rejected | Read the reason before correcting or resubmitting |

Submission alone gives no XP and unlocks no verified role. A first accepted business relationship has its own [XP conditions](https://market-launchpad-com.gitbook.io/docs/citizens/levels-and-xp).

## Representation is separate from a fee claim

An accepted relationship does not establish an available fee balance or a completed payment. A payout requires the applicable claim workflow and recipient checks when that workflow opens.
